Botanic Gardens
If you are looking for a green oasis in the heart of Glasgow, then the Glasgow Botanic Gardens is a good place to start. You can spend hours exploring the grounds and glasshouses. They are free to enter and open to the public from April to September, although it is best to visit during the summer months.
Founded by the distinguished botanist Thomas Hopkirk in 1817, the Botanic Gardens are now linked to the University of Glasgow. The garden is situated between the River Kelvin and Great Western Road in the West End of the city.
Hunterian Museum
The Hunterian Museum in Glasgow is one of the most popular free attractions in the city. It is one of the oldest public museums in Scotland.
Located on the campus of the University of Glasgow, the Hunterian Museum features a wide variety of objects and exhibits. In addition to art, the museum includes exhibits on natural history and ancient Egypt.
Royal Concert Hall
If you’re a fan of music, you’ll definitely want to check out Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall. It’s a prestigious venue that hosts classical and pop concerts as well as operas, ballets, talks, and other events. There’s even a cafe if you’re looking to sit down for a cup of tea.
In addition to its famous music hall, the city of Glasgow is home to other notable cultural institutions. You can visit the Mackintosh Museum, the People’s Palace Museum, and the Winter Gardens, for example.
